Dr. John Pritchett Dr. John Pritchett
State Department Liaison

Dr. John Pritchett recently finished his Doctor of Education studying middle school and business education in the Department of Occupational Studies at the University of Georgia. Dr. Pritchett began working for the Georgia Department of Education in June 2007 as the Middle School Curriculum Coordinator in Career, Technical and Agricultural Education. Prior to arriving at the DOE, he was the Assistant Principal at Winder Barrow Middle School for Barrow County Schools from 2001-2007.

As the Middle School Curriculum Coordinator, Dr. Pritchett plans to keep the middle school CTAE programs growing and moving forward throughout Georgia, and helping facilitate the understanding of effective process-oriented transition programs. CTAE is integral to helping Georgia middle schools increase yearly results by providing CTAE teachers improved curriculum with performance standards, greater relevance between CTAE and academic-content areas, and providing relationships to real world activities for students. Middle school students have many untapped or undiscovered talents that can be brought out through a variety of CTAE courses offered in middle schools and career development activities. All middle school CTAE curriculum updates will align respectively to their high school CTAE program areas and career pathways.
